the John XD at the White Party. Check out the Website!
Connect with Connectors!!! You find it hard to believe, but the SuperKonnector is not very tied into “the scene” in Tampa. Because I’m not, I made sure to connect with at least a few people who are. Since I didn’t ask all of them their permission to listed here, I’ll only mention 1, because he is “all about it”!
So let’s have some fun. Last Sat I made it out to the www.13uglymen.com Charity Party poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to benefit PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT THE ACADEMIES, INC. www.theacademies.us
I had a great time and ran into my friend “The John Xd”, owner and operator of www.24sevenmagazine.com.
Check us out at the entrance of Floyd’s at the Hard Rock for the after party and meet the John XD!
PS – even if it’s not your scene, get out and meet people in all different niches. Expand your horizon and make contacts that will help you help others and help yourself! and Have Fun!!!!
It’s gonna Blow!!!
You’re going to see some interesting things along your journey through life! Some things will jump out at you; others won’t. If you want to get the most from connecting, you’ve got to be aware of all the magical things that are happening around you that could help you in your quest!!!
Last Wed I was putting out signs for my Bank Owned real estate wholesaling business until 3:15am. On our way back home, we came across a really interesting happening!
There were police and a fire-engine blocking off the right lane on W Platt St because a Transformer was on fire and shooting sparks everywhere (unfortunately my business partner Denny got locked onto the transformer so you can’t see the police car or fire-engine). In pitch black darkness this was a brilliant sight, and we made it through safely! Enjoy the video and remember to notice all the cool stuff on your journey through life!
SuperKonnector Serendipity example: George Chaconas
Here is a great example of being open and aware of helping people in any way that you can.
I moved to Tampa in Feb 2007. I asked for referrals for office space and Casey Connors (who I haven’t seen or spoken to since March 2007) introduced me to George Chaconas. I didn’t want to lease a room in his building, but we became friends.
George is a great guy and partner in www.Washington Partners.com which buys and sells businesses. He is also the father of a beautiful 3 month old baby. George introduced me to Juan Pardo who is now his protege. Watch the video for the rest of the story, but from a referral for office space, I found 2 friends, and 1 is my now my landlord. You never know! (You’ll have to excuse any foul language on the video. they are not paid actors and didn’t know this was going on a blog. this is authentic and genuine footage!) Enjoy!
PS – Remember to get to know people, not just what they do!
PSS – If you know anyone who wants to buy or sell their business, let me know and I’ll connect them with Juan or George.
SuperKonnector Serendipity! Check this Out!
A lot of Connecting or Networking success comes from being aware of what’s going on around you all the time. That greatly increases the chances of Serendipity, which is really magical! Actually, serendipity isn’t magical at all; just feels like it. Wait until you see today’s video!
The dictionary defines serendipity as the faculty of making happy CHANCE finds. It comes from a fairy tale written in the year 1754 called “The Three Princes of Serendip” whose heroes were always making discoveries, by accident and sagacity, of things tey were not in quest of”. So here’s a great one!
Last Friday, a really good friend of mine, Stephanie Kailos, was visiting from Charleston SC. I picked her up at the train station at about 6pm and we went to Walter Groteke’s reception following the most successful Home Shopping Network product debut in 3 years www.atlastpillow.com, then went to First Friday in St Pete. Here’s where the Serendipity starts. Stephanie had received a couple of calls from another good friend of hers from Raleigh, who happened to be here also, and they hadn’t seen each othe r in awhile either.
So at 1 am I drove Stephanie to pick up Stephen and we went over to the Dubliner in Tampa together until about 2:30am. Stephen invited to go out on a boat the following morning. And now for that magical serendipity I’ll summarize in the following video.
Stephanie and I show up at the place where Stephen is staying in Tampa at the time, the home of “mr x” (who requested to remain anonymous) who runs a PR company out of Raleigh NC, but he moved back to Tampa and is opening an office here. When we pull up, I see Jamie West who “mr x” invited out with us. I KNOW JAMIE. I asked how Jamie met “mr x”, and she said through Aakash Patel, who was one of my good friends. So Stephanie comes in from Charleston and introduces me to her friend Stephen (who has already become a friend) who was staying with a really good guy who is also very influential in Tampa who had my friend Jamie over who she met through my friend Aakash Patel!
And tonight I’m going to “mr x’s” open house along with the Benz Model and Talent Agency (one of his clients) for the opening of “a pr firm” voted the best PR firm in the Southeast which I wouldn’t even have known about had my friend Stephanie from Charleston not come to visit or if we would have “blown Stephen off” on Friday night. Stephen is now actively looking for a house in the Hyde Park or Palma Ceia area, so if you know of any great deals under $500k for a great house, get in touch! Anway, watch the video from last Sat and if you have any PR needs, look up French/West/Vaughan! SERENDIPITY!
To be Successful Connecting, always look for the best qualities in people. Even the shadiest characters are usually one 1 person away from a great person, even if it’s their enemy! Be aware of that and meet those people!
PS – the late Charlie Jones said, “You’ll be in 5 years the books you read and the people you meet”. Have a great day! It’s Friday!
www.monstermixers.com Networking Tips
Correction on yesterday’s blog entry: Carrie said “If you sell, You Smell!” – Very appropriate for today’s posting about networking tips.
Big event tonight at the Venue at 5:30pm in Clearwater as www.monstermixers.com kicks off it’s first event! Here are some fun networking tips borrowed from one of my favorite movies, “Wedding Crashers”. Who would have thought that some of their rules are actually very good suggestions!
They are great tips, but don’t practice all of these crashers’ rules. Here are the good ones in reverse order:
Rule #86 – Shoes say a lot about the man.
Rule #82 – Always think ahead but always stay in the moment. Reconcile this paradox and you’ll not only get the girl, you might also get peace of mind.
Rule #80 – Stop, look, listen. At weddings. In life. Applies to networking events also!
Rule #73 – No excuses. Party like a champion. Make this one “Play” like a champion!
Rule #72 – Studies have shown that women have a more developed sense of smell. Breath mints – small cost, big yield.
Rule #66 – Smile! You’re having the time of your life.
Rule #60 – No “chicken dancing” – no exceptions.
Rule #37 – At the reception, one hard drink or two beers max. A drunk crasher is a sloppy crasher.
DON’T GET DRUNK AND WASTED!!!!! YOU ARE MEETING BUSINESS PEOPLE! Have fun, but don’t go off
the deep end!
Rule #29 – Always be a team player. Everyone needs a little help now and again.
Rule #18 – You love animals and children.
Rule #6 – Do not sit in the corner and sulk. It draws attention in a negative way. Draw attention to yourself, but on your own terms.
Rule #7 – Blend in by standing out.
Rule #8 – Be the life of the party.
Wow! Look at how many wedding crashing rules apply to networking! There are a lot more that apply, but they also include some verbage that wouldn’t be appropriate to list for networking.
As always, have fun and ADD VALUE! Make notes about the people you meet who can help you or who you can help. And make notes about anyone extraordinary. You never know when that contact could be useful to you or others in your center of influence!

Reminder, always take your digital camera with you to capture videos. I missed 3 great opportuities this week for great videos, because I didn’t have my camera with me!
PS! You’re NEVER too old to learn new stuff!
Create the Habit! and make sure I do too! What, no video today?
Steven Klein here. Well, it’s April 24th and I still have not created the habit of blogging every day. To get visitors to your site and make sure they keep coming to your site, you’ve got to have consistent content (kind of talking to myself there!).
I recently “googled” Steven Klein and I didn’t show up until the 41st page! There is a very famous photographer named Steven Klein and some dude with an LSAT course who dominate my name.
Well, given what I know about blogging and social networking, I’m going to be my own case study now and see how quickly I can move up to the 1st or 2nd page.
I’ll use my blog, facebook, twitter, and linked in to a lesser degree and see what happens.
My main focus is selling the best priced wholesale properties in Tampa – visit www.etampadeals.com and putting a couple of big deals together with my SuperKonnector business, but I’ve got create the habit of blogging and using the social networking sites daily!
And I would suggest carrying your digital camera around with you to capture short video clips for your blog also. That’s right; No video today. And I could have had some great footage if I’d had my camera with me when I put out signs for www.etampadeals.com this week!
Create the Habit and let me know how it goes. If you don’t see a daily blog from me, get on me!
Thanks, Steven Klein
