Preston Ely, one of the most successful real estate information marketers in the US will be Monday’s star, but when I found this clip, I had to put it up immediately! READ DOWN TO THE VIDEO AND WATCH IT! It will inspire you!
I teamed up with my business partners months ago to work together on 2 things that just about everyone told us was impossible! It’ll never work! What makes you think you can do something like that! That’s not real! Everyone is talking about that, but no one has done it!
Despite all the negative banter, we perservered, and we’ll continue to perservere despite 0 income for me since January!!!! I will be proof that you don’t need money to make money! My attitude has never been better, nor have my expectations! I KNOW our outcome and we are very close! Don’t worry, there will be several blog posts about it before the end of July!

So here it is! Rather than set it up or describe it, I’ll let one of my mentor’s Tony Robbins do that on the video, as he tells the success story of someone we’ve all heard of, but most of us have NO IDEA what this guy went through to reach his outcome that he visualized since childhood! No, I don’t have a book. But I should! I recently met “The Connection Expert” (www.theconnectionexpert.com). By the way, opt in on the right and I’ll get you a free report on connecting.

The Guy who Sold over $1,000,000,000 worth of Collectible Coins…….

Pinging!!!!

Pinging means briefly contacting with someone in your contact database. As you gather a lot of contacts, it’s good to occassionally reach out to everyone, but certainly to those who are centers of influence and good people.
A lot of customer relationship databases (like Outlook, Act, Salesforce, etc..) can be programmed to notify you to reach out and contact people and even send out an email automatically!
I keep a running list of people that I’d like to contact and I carry a printed copy that I take with me every day. That way, while I’m driving, in line, or doing any thoughtless task that doesn’t require my complete attention, I can call someone, text them, or email them and PING!
I highly recommend everyone get a “cardscan” machine to scan business cards into your “crm” so you don’t have to type them in manually.
I’d also suggest that you look over your database monthly to see who you should add to the list to PING!

Correction on yesterday’s blog entry: Carrie said “If you sell, You Smell!” – Very appropriate for today’s posting about networking tips.
Big event tonight at the Venue at 5:30pm in Clearwater as www.monstermixers.com kicks off it’s first event! Here are some fun networking tips borrowed from one of my favorite movies, “Wedding Crashers”. Who would have thought that some of their rules are actually very good suggestions!
They are great tips, but don’t practice all of these crashers’ rules. Here are the good ones in reverse order:
Rule #86 – Shoes say a lot about the man.
Rule #82 – Always think ahead but always stay in the moment. Reconcile this paradox and you’ll not only get the girl, you might also get peace of mind.
Rule #80 – Stop, look, listen. At weddings. In life. Applies to networking events also!
Rule #73 – No excuses. Party like a champion. Make this one “Play” like a champion!
Rule #72 – Studies have shown that women have a more developed sense of smell. Breath mints – small cost, big yield.
Rule #66 – Smile! You’re having the time of your life.
Rule #60 – No “chicken dancing” – no exceptions.
Rule #37 – At the reception, one hard drink or two beers max. A drunk crasher is a sloppy crasher.
DON’T GET DRUNK AND WASTED!!!!! YOU ARE MEETING BUSINESS PEOPLE! Have fun, but don’t go off
the deep end!
Rule #29 – Always be a team player. Everyone needs a little help now and again.
Rule #18 – You love animals and children.
Rule #6 – Do not sit in the corner and sulk. It draws attention in a negative way. Draw attention to yourself, but on your own terms.
Rule #7 – Blend in by standing out.
Rule #8 – Be the life of the party.

Wow! Look at how many wedding crashing rules apply to networking! There are a lot more that apply, but they also include some verbage that wouldn’t be appropriate to list for networking.
As always, have fun and ADD VALUE! Make notes about the people you meet who can help you or who you can help. And make notes about anyone extraordinary. You never know when that contact could be useful to you or others in your center of influence!
